Hi,
 today we have a special post.I do one of these every 20 posts.As we all know Earth day is coming up.So I have come up with some ways to help the earth.Number 1.Try to pick up trash when you see one the ground.It is important that we keep our planet clean.Number 2.Try to recycle and reuse glass bottles and news papers.Don't put food scraps into the garbage, try to make compost out of it.Number 3.

Try to not drive the car as much and ride bikes instead.Number 4.You could plant a tree to produce more seeds to grow more trees.Trees are the source to our lives.Trees give us the shade we need and the air we breath.

And the most important,NUMBER 5.Do every thing you can to protect the earth.The earth is the place we live.We would all not be here with out it.It is our home that we must protect.The earth is the source of our food and water.So you see we must protect it.So get out and HELP THE WORLD.You can make a difference.

slope 2

Hi,

Today we are going to continue talking about slops.In this post we are going to talk about horizontal lines or no slope, undefined, and a short cut to find slope without graphing.No slope is when you graph it and it comes out in a horizontal line and undefined is when it is A straight vertical line.

The short cut is to take the 2 points and subtract x from the other x and y from the other y.Once you are done put y over x in fraction form and simplify.Keep it in a fraction always.That would be the slope.You can only use this way if you have 2 points.

Hi,
today we are going to talk about slopes.To find slope you must know how to graph points.Slope is the measure of steepness of aa line.The ratio of the vertical over horasontal.A line with a positive slpoe goes upwards and a slope with a negitive slope is going downward.

The formula is always y=mx+b.M stands for the slope and b stands for the y-intercept.If it is a horisantle line it is a no slope or 0 slope.If it is vertical it is undifined.Once you have the slope and one point you can find the other points and find the line.We will continue this next post.

today we are going to talk about how to graph points.Graphing points is realy easy and it dosent require anything but a graph and coradnits.cordinates look like this-(2,3)-They can be ether nege.itive or positive but let us stick with the positive.The graph looks like this.The graph could go forever.

Let us plot something.let us take the one that I used as an example.(2,3).So we always then up.So we go 2 across and then 3 up. There is our point.That is realy it so thank you.

rock cycle.

Today we are going to talk about the rock cycle. The rock cycle is the process that witch the rocks go through.This a picture of it.As you can see there is many ways that rocks can go.It is an endless circle.


I will explain it.Lets start at metamorphic.It can ether be melted or be turned into sediment.Sediment then squeezes together and becomes sedimentary.It then goes through heat or erosion.Once heated it turns back to metamorphic.And so on.

Hi,
today we are battle pemdas vs. percent.This is the very time to decide witch is better.Nobody would ever know that this would ever happen.But fate has broght us to this momunt.

PEMDAS
The advantages are that pemdas is a thing that you know what to do first, and it is an algorithm.P=parenthies,      E=exponents, M or D=multiplcation and divtion, A or S=Adding and subtracting.The disadvanteges are that it is confusing and it can sometimes be super long.

Percent
The advanteges of  percent are that there are magic numbers that can be very helpfull like 2,4,5,10,20,25,50,100,9 and 99.If it is any of these numbers then it would be very easy, like 1/2 would be 50% and so on.The disadventeges are that it is very hard to find the percent of a number if it is not 100.

constallations

Hi,
today we are going to talk about constalations.They are pictures that are made by stars.The most common ones are the big dipper and Orion..Their names are usaly  Greek.They can either be an animal or person.Some constalitions are only seen in a single season and some are seen every season.sinse 1922 88 constalations are named and seen.

some constalations can have more than 10 stars.Some might have little ones in them.There are more than 100 that havn't been identified.

plate tectoics

Hi today we are going to talk about plate tectonics.plate tectonics is the theory that the earth is broken up into sections. The earth is broken up into 16 plates.Every year they move 1-12 cm.Each plate is ether a Continental plate and oceanic plate.The biggest plate is the pacific plate.The smallest is the Juan De fuca.

The plates move in three different ways.Convergent or to come together, divergent or to go opposite directions, and transform or slide past each other.When they move 3 things can happen.Either a mountain,trench, or earthquake.Most happen around the pacific plate.

Today is the last day for single minerals.Today we will talk about the satounding sapphire.A sapphire is on the hardness scale at a level of  9.They are mostly every color but red.It's formula is AL2O3.It's streak is white.It's luster is Vitreous.It's melting point is 2030 c.

It was believed that the earth was resting on a sapphire.Out of all the colors of a sapphire blue is the best.The others are consiterd as fancy colors.A sapphire reprasents truth and faithfullness.It is the most scarsed gemstone.It was believed to have healing powers.It i the birth stone of septomber.

Today we will be talking about diamonds.A diamond is the hardest mineral in the moths hardness scale.It has a straengh of 10.Diamonds can typically be yellow, brown to gray or coloress.It's formula is C.It has a coloress streak.It's luster is Adimintine.It's melting point is preassure dependent.

Diamonds are the status of love.They are the symbol of love like rubys.There are also used in wedding rings.There are also the to find conflict in afrcia..Because the diamond is the hardest mineral .It is sometimes used in drills.It is one of the 12 god minerals.

For the next few posts we will talk about a certain mineral.In this post we will talk about the mineral,ruby.A ruby is the second hardest mineral right before diamonds.Rubies can be red, purplish,pinkish, or brown.It's formula is AL2O3:Cr.It's streak is white.It's luster is Vitreous.It's melting point is at a wapking 2044oC

It is said that a ruby has a fire in it that never goes out.This makes it the symbol of love.That is why it makes a great ring.If worn on the left hand it will bring you happiness and joy.Some say it is the best of the 12 stones that were created by god.It is also said that if it changes color it means danger.Rubies are very similar to sapphires.They say the ruby is the king of gems.This jewel is most commonly used in rings and bracelets.

Today we are going to talk about minerals. The important characteristics of a mineral are being in the solid form, naturally occurring, definite chemical composition, inorganic, and having a crystal structure. Coal is not a mineral because it is missing  three of these characteristics. There are a bunch of tests you can do to find out facts about minerals such as streak, luster, color, scratch and fracture. Now lets talk more about mineral formation in nature. Minerals can take about 1000 years to be a inch tall grown. Some examples of minerals are rubies, diamonds, sapphires, onix, and emerald.
Each mineral stone has a place on the moths hardness scale. Diamond would be the highest at 10 because it is the strongest mineral ever found.The biggest diamond is a 432 carats diamond.Talc, on the other hand is on the moths scale at the lowest level 1. It can be easily scratched with a finger nail. All other minerals stays in between on the hardness scale. There is no level above ten but there is hardness values like 3.4, 9.9 and so on. Minerals can be worth more than  $10,000.We will talk a little more on our next post.

Periodic Table of elemints.

Today we are going to talk about the Periodic Table of elements. The Periodic Table of elements is a table where are the elements are listed in certain rows and columns. There are 112 elements on it. The father of the periodic table is Dmitri Mendeleev. He created the first in 1871. In the modern table, the elements are organized in the increasing order atomic number. The atomic number is the number of protons in a atom of the element. All elements are made up of the smallest particles called atoms. Each atom is made up of three fundamental particles such as electrons, protons, and neutrons. The vertical columns are called groups or families and the horizontal rows are called periods.
Each element has a symbol witch could have 1-2 letters. This symbol is given in the table. In addition to the chemical symbol, atomic number, atomic mass, physical state of each element, group numbers, and electron arangement are also given. The elements are classified into mainly 4 classes such as noble gasses, main group elements, transition metals and inner transition metals.

Percentage

Today we are going to talk about percentage.Percentage is a fraction of something out of 100.For example if you look at your grades on school grade book, 80% means, you have 80 points out of 100. Let us see how we can use this simple math fraction in science.We all can not survive with out water.We know that  75% of earth is water that means 75% of earths surface is covered with water.Water is made up of elements hydrogen and oxygen.The chemical formula of water is H2O. Let us see if we can calculate the percentage of oxygen in water.Water has a formula mass of 18.The atomic mass of hydrogen is 1 and the oxygen is 16.So for H2O,the mass will be 2x1+16=18.
     Let us see how we can calculate the percentage of oxygen in water.If we have 16 for every 18 of water then how much w e have in 100?
16/18 = A/100
16 x 100 = 18 x A 
Dividing both sides by 18 will give you 
A=(16 x 100)/18
The answer is 88.88%.
In this way you can calculate the percentage of any component in any compound or material.This simple math is used every day by people like engineers, chemists,etc...

Today we are going to talk about subtracting integers.When you are subtracting integers you have to make sure you do it correct.you have to add both the negitive numbers and put a negitve sign in front.


lets do some exsamples.-3-12.First we do 3+12 and get 15.Because it is a negative we put a negive sign in front.It is very easy.

Today we are going to learn how to add integers.Adding integers is kind of tricky and confusing but I will show you how to do it.Adding integers means that you have to do problems like -9+8=?.The answer to that would be -1.When adding you must go up, but when you adding integers you must go down and then up.When you count negative numbers you count 5,4,3,2,1,0,-1,2,-3,-4,-5 and so on.See that you count up on negative numbers even though you are going down. So when you are adding you go down and then up. Do you get it?Answer on the side bar pool.

Lets do some examples.-5+9=?.So first we count down 9.-4,-3,-2,-1,0.Now we go up,But first we have to find out how many we have counted so far.We have counted 5.Now we count up 4.1,2,3,4.The answer is four.

Today we are going to talk about integers. Integers are numbers that are positive and negative.  Multiplying them is just the same as multiplying regular numbers. Here is a chart that can help you.

In this table, you read from right to left, downwards, or diagonal. So lets look at the first row across.

Lets do an example.9(-11). First lets see if the answer is positive or negative. So the problem on the table would be,p x n =n. So the answer is negative. Now it is simple multiplication. 9 x 11=99. So the answer is -99.

Today we are going to talk about mode. The definition of mode is the most occurred number in a set of numbers. If two numbers occur the same number of times then there is no mode. Like if I had the numbers 5/5/5/5/8/8/8/8/2/4/9/6/4/3.There is no mode. there is four 5s and four 8sThat is mode



lets take the problem 5/4/6/7/8/9/1/2/3/5/4/6/5/4.There are one 1/2/3/7/8/9.two 6s and there are three 4s and 5s.The most occurred numbers would be 4 and 5. We can not have 2 modes so there is no mode. thank you.

  Today we are going to talk about median.The definition of median is the middle value when the values are written in numerical order.If a data set has an even number of values,the median is the mean of the two middle values.we will be doing some practice next paragraph.That is what median is.


lets do the problem 23,24,25,27,28,19,30.first we put the numbers in order.19,23,24,25,27,28,30.Then we find the middle.25.That is how you find median.thank you.

 Today we are going to talk about mean.Mean is when you add a bunch of numbers and divied by how many numbers there are in toal. The numbers can be any like 1/2,52148863457.55255416,or 64545155/535841518556.

Lets take the numbers 78,32,65,25,458,232.
To find the mean You would add them up and divid When you add them you will get890add if you divid them by how many there are (6)you will get about 148.That is how to find the mean
